GLS and Risdall Share a "Can-Do" Spirit!
Printers and ad agencies are frequent partners; yet not every relationship is
as complementary as that of GLS and Risdall Advertising Agency (RAA). This
twosome shares a “can do” spirit that makes GLS and RAA very adept in creating
success stories. Such is the case in their work with Brown College.
Last year, Brown College selected RAA as the design partner for its new identity package. The campaign included printed materials such as postcards, brochures, display signage, a CD jacket, website landing pages, web ads and more.
RAA Account Supervisor Wendy Showalter was responsible for virtually every aspect of the Brown College campaign and she called on GLS Account Executive Dave Tich. Because of her past experience in working with Tich — a relationship that spans nearly 15 years and a variety of organizations — Wendy knew that GLS would be a great resource when it came time to produce Brown’s printed materials.
“Nothing is too much to ask GLS,” praises Wendy. “They’ll say, ‘Yep, Wendy, we can do that.’ And they do!” She adds, “Many of the projects for Brown College follow a pattern of wait, wait, wait… PRINT! GLS is very accommodating when it happens.”
Quality and cost-effectiveness are among the biggest reasons Wendy values GLS as a partner. Another is the reliability factor. Whether it’s answering questions, solving problems or coming up with a good alternative, she says GLS is always there.

In addition to printing, GLS also provides warehousing, mailing and fulfillment services for Brown College. According to Dave, “Brown College makes use of
virtually every piece of equipment at GLS…digital and traditional printing,
mailing, fulfillment and warehousing.” He adds that Brown utilizes GLS’ automated
24/7 online system to order materials for the Brooklyn Center and Mendota Heights campuses, or to follow-up with prospective students after recruiting events.
The feedback from Brown College on this campaign has been very positive for both Risdall and GLS. Wendy reports, “Brown has been extremely pleased with everything that GLS printed.”
“There is a tremendous amount of trust between the two of us,” says Dave of
his relationship with Wendy. “She knows what I need in terms of time and
consideration.”
“Wendy knows that when she comes to GLS, we will do a high-quality job and
we are looking out for them,” he explains. “So she stays involved — but she
doesn’t micromanage.”
Dave also stresses the advantages of Wendy’s expertise. “Having worked as a
project manager and print buyer earlier in her career, Wendy brings value to the working relationship by keeping print projects on a manageable schedule, which gives everyone involved the ability to do their jobs well.”
The ability to achieve this kind of team success is one of Wendy’s greatest
professional joys. She summarizes, “We work together to help Brown College achieve its business goals. GLS is my hero!”
When faced with a tall order, proven partners Risdall and GLS have just one thing to say: “Bring it on!”
