Garry Calhoun - Chief Technology Officer
Garry is responsible for developing and executing the company's IT objectives and architecture including policies, procedures, hardware, software, personnel, budgeting and forecasting.

Garry brings more than 25 years of technology experience and leadership to GLS.  As CTO, he is responsible for developing and executing all of GLS’s IT objectives and architecture, including policies, procedures, hardware, software, personnel, budgeting and forecasting.

“Garry is a great addition to our company,” said Gary Garner, president and CEO.  “I am confident that his vast IT experience and knowledge will allow GLS to achieve our IT objectives while enhancing customer service and product offerings at the same time.”

Prior to joining GLS, Garry was director of operations for startribune.com, the online entity of the Star Tribune, the Twin Cities’ largest daily newspaper.  While there, he was responsible for strategic planning and direction, web traffic growth and budget management.  Under his leadership, the newspaper received the coveted Editor and Publisher (Eppy) Award for best web site three years in a row, as well as other prominent association recognition, including the Direct Marketing Association’s award for “Best Cross-Platform Marketing Campaign.”

Educated at the University of Wisconsin, Eau Claire and the University of St. Thomas, Minneapolis, Calhoun holds a bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Art, along with Mini-Master’s degrees in Software Design & Development and Quality Management.

Garry lives in New Brighton, Minn., with his wife, Deborah, and their two children.
